About Us

The Top of the Common Committee was formed in March, 2005, with the goal of leading a community effort to restore the Congregational Church building and Old Town Hall at the top of the Lunenburg Common. Our mission continues as we seek funding and oversee the restoration work so that the buildings can again have a pleasing appearance appropriate to their location at the center of Lunenburg Village and be revived as inviting community spaces and important community assets.
Our fundraising events have become annual community gatherings! They include the Lunenburg Maple Festival, monthly Open Mic and weekly Wednesdays on the Common during the North Country "warm season", and the Gingerbread Bazaar. We also offer Grub on the Green in the fall and contribute to the annual Old Home Day Celebration sponsored by the Old Home Day Committee.
